...

Last Summer, I wanted to see if I could animate something with a screen print. I hand-drew each frame, cut it out, printed it, then compiled it. It worked! Later, I had the thought of the game's power system coming from prints that players must physically put on enemies. That way, actions and status effects were directly tied to the enemy's visuals, as opposed to their stat block.

I put together a demo, but playtesters were confused and frustrated. Players weren't sure what prints did or how to get rid of them, opting for the more traditional RPG mechanics. On top of that, the systems I had programmed were showing more and more of their limitations.

So, I started from scratch with a different style. Even then though, things didn't click. I decided to shelve the idea indefinitely.

Still, this is easily the most ambitious and most polished project I've ever worked on. It holds a special place in my heart, and I'll probably return to the idea at some point.
